Palm-lined lagoon and calm water at Al Mamzar Beach Park, Dubai

Al Mamzar Beach Park Dubai: Entry Fee, Timings & Complete Visitor Guide

It sits on the Al Mamzar peninsula right on the border with Sharjah, which makes it popular with residents of both emirates, yet it rarely feels as crowded as JBR or Kite Beach.

What makes Al Mamzar different from other Dubai beaches

Most famous Dubai beaches — JBR, Kite Beach, La Mer — are open urban beaches backed by cafés and towers. Al Mamzar is the opposite: a 106-hectare landscaped park where the beaches sit inside sheltered lagoons. The water is noticeably calmer than the open Gulf, which is why so many families with small children choose it. Between the beaches you'll find lawns, palm groves, cycling paths, playgrounds and more than enough shaded space to spread out even on a busy Friday.

The five beaches inside the park

The park's beaches are simply numbered 1 to 5, spread around the peninsula. Beaches 1 and 2, nearest the main gate, have the most facilities — showers, changing rooms, kiosks and lifeguards during posted hours. Beaches 4 and 5 at the far end are quieter and face the Sharjah lagoon; if you want space to yourself on a weekday morning, head there. A small road train and rentable bikes connect the areas, and you can drive between parking lots inside the park if you paid car entry.

Chalets and BBQ areas

The chalets are the park's hidden gem. Each one is an air-conditioned cabin with a fridge, seating and its own shaded BBQ area, steps from the sand. On winter weekends they sell out early — arrive at opening time or book ahead where available. If you don't take a chalet, free public BBQ pits are scattered across the lawns; bring your own charcoal and tools, and note that ground fires outside the pits are not allowed.

Ladies' days

Al Mamzar runs women-and-children-only days on selected weekdays — historically Wednesdays and Sundays, though the schedule is adjusted from time to time. On those days male visitors over a young age limit are not admitted to the park. If your group includes men, check the current schedule before driving over; on all other days the park is open to everyone.

How to get there

By car

Set your navigation to "Al Mamzar Beach Park main gate". From central Deira it's about 15 minutes via Al Khaleej Road. Paid parking inside the park is the easiest option — that's the AED 30 car entry. On winter Fridays the inside lots fill by late morning.

By metro and taxi

The closest Green Line stations are Al Qiyadah and Stadium; from either it's a 10–12 minute taxi ride to the gate. There is no metro station within walking distance.

By bus

RTA routes serving the Al Mamzar area stop on Al Khaleej Road near the park entrance; check the RTA S'hail app for the current route numbers from your location.

Best time to visit

The season runs October to April, when daytime temperatures are pleasant enough to enjoy the lawns as much as the water. In summer, come before 9 am or after 5 pm and stick to the pools and shaded areas. Weekday mornings are quietest year-round; Friday and Saturday afternoons are family rush hour.

Al Mamzar Open Beach (the free option)

Just outside the gated park, the Al Mamzar Open Beach corniche stretch is free to everyone, with a running track, showers and food trucks. It's livelier and less green than the park, but if you only want a quick swim without paying entry, it does the job. Night swimming is available on floodlit sections — a feature Dubai has been extending along its public beaches, similar to Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah open beaches.

Quick tips

Bring cash or a card for the gate; wear swim-appropriate clothing on the beaches and modest wear in the park areas; alcohol is not permitted; drones need prior permission; and lifeguard hours end before the park closes, so swim while flags are posted. Pets are not allowed inside the park.
